WELCOME CHRIS!!! We welcome Chris Paukner as the newest member of
the Norway Lake Parish staff. Chris has been hired as the youth program
coordinator. During the school year Chris will work approximately three
days each week in our parish, and two days each week in the role of
hospitality at Green Lake Lutheran Ministries. During the summer he will
spend more time in camp ministry and less in the parish. This position
would not be a reality if it were not a shared position with Green Lake
Lutheran Ministries. We are so excited that Chris has interest,
experience and enthusiasm for working with young people in both a parish
and camp setting.
Chris graduated form the University of Wisconsin, LaCrosse, with a
degree in recreation management. He comes to us from Campbellsport,
Wisconsin (near Milwaukee) with varied experiences in both parish and
camp ministries. In October, Chris will be married to Nicole. Nicole has
just completed a degree in music education, and will be employed at Eden
Valley Watkins School.
Room and board will be provided for them at Green Lake Bible Camp as
part of the camp package.
Chris will be installed (for the parish and camp) at the 10:30am worship
at Games Lake Park #7 on Sunday, July 6. A parish potluck will follow
that service – as we welcome Chris to our parish and to Green Lake
Lutheran Ministries. We are truly excited about this new chapter in our
parish!
HOLY COMMUNION will be celebrated at the park service on Sunday, July 6.
New ceramic communion ware, given in loving memory of Lois Peterson by
her family, will be dedicated and used for the first time.
VACATIONS ARE GREAT…we look forward to them all year long. We plan for
them, pack for them, and take care of all of the details before we’re
off. But wait! There is something else to do. Before you go, remember
that your parish’s mission and ministries continue while you are away.
The parish’s expenses go on as usual. So, before you pack up and head
out for vacation, please remember the Norway Lake Parish by using your
regular offering envelopes. Then have a great vacation!
SYNOD ASSEMBLY – JUNE 13-15 AT GUSTAVUS ADOLPHUS COLLEGE

Eight Gifts that Don't Cost a Cent....
1. The Gift of Listening.
Really listen. No interrupting. Just listen.
2. The Gift of Affection
Be generous with appropriate hugs, pats on the back, and handholds. Let
these small actions demonstrate your love.
3. The Gift of Laughter.
Share great articles and funny stories. Your gift says, "I love to laugh
with you."
4. The Gift of a Written Note.
It can be a simple "I love you" or "Thanks for the help." A brief,
handwritten note may be remembered for a lifetime, and may even change a
life.
5. The Gift of a Compliment.
A simple and sincere, "You did a super job," or "That was a wonderful
meal" can make someone's day.
6. The Gift of a Favor.
Every day, go out of your way to do something kind.
7. The Gift of Solitude.
There are times when we want only to be left alone. Be sensitive to
those times, and give the gift of solitude to others.
8. The Gift of Good Cheer.
The easiest way to feel good is to make others feel good.
PLEASE NOTE: A number of jackets have been left at FL. If you
have forgotten one, please pick it up at the church!
VISITS AND HOME COMMUNION…
If you are aware of people with special celebrations coming up, or with
special needs, please contact the parish office. We want to be informed
about the births, deaths, hospitalizations, illnesses, accidents,
anniversaries and special birthdays – so that we can uphold one another
in prayer. Also call the parish office to request home communion. Feel
free to leave a message on the answering machine.
